Miss Tarin (Room 41)Happy New Year! My name is Miss Tarin. I am the new Kindergarten teacher for room 41. I have been teaching Kindergarten for 3 years and I am very excited to continue this learning adventure at Broadway Elementary for the new year. I am born and raised in Los Angeles. I went to school and graduated from USC with my Masters in Teaching (Fight On!). My favorite things to do when I am not teaching are practicing yoga, riding my bike to the beach, spending time with friends and family, and exploring new places in LA. I look forward to a great rest of the year and meeting all you wonderful parents. I am excited for all the learning. Email: [email protected]
Chen Laoshi (Room 42) My name is Carol Chen. The great Chinese philosopher, Confucius, once said, “I hear and I forget. I see and I remember. I do and I understand.” I believe the fundamental part of learning is having the opportunity to apply our own knowledge. In my classroom, I hope to provide ample opportunities where students are engaged in hands-on learning-to nurture their love for learning, help them to expand and grow, and to fully maximize their potential, socially, emotionally, and intellectually.
I am excited and proud to be part of the Broadway community, teaching kindergartners whose minds are like sponges ready to absorb what comes their way. I have witnessed the incredible support of families, the enthusiasm of students, and the positive learning atmosphere. I hope to fully implement teaching strategies where students can blossom into independent thinkers who are curious about the world that surrounds them and strive to be positive contributors.
Being an immigrant from Taiwan, I am pleased to be a part of the Dual Immersion Program, such a special and unique opportunity for our students here at Broadway Elementary School. I fully understand the positive impact of learning another language, as well as appreciate individual differences, and strive to accommodate each student’s learning styles. I recognize that each student’s mindset is limitless and throughout my years of teaching, have made it a priority to assist in the blossoming of these innovative minds. Email: [email protected]
